It is worth mentioning that the conceptualization and creation of BSFI took place in Calcutta in the year 1963-64 when WBBA had organized the first ever World Amateur Snooker Championship which is now called the IBSF World Amateur Snooker Championship, at the Great Eastern Hotel, Calcutta. The office bearers of BSFI & WBBA were most common at that time.

This Association, over the years, had worked tirelessly to promote cue sports both in Bengal and in the country by hosting both National & International Championships over the years, apart from undertaking to hone talent in the sport.

The current Committee of WBBA comprises of mostly yester years players who have represented the State in National level Championships and are determined and passionate to take the mantle passed on by their predecessors to greater heights for the State in the sport.
