Designed for children ages 6 to 8, Weather by Tinybop allows anyone to explore the wild and wacky weather forces all around. To aid with the learning process, parents or teachers can even download a free handbook with a number of activities that tie-in with the app.
Hot and cold. While the app gives an overall picture of what weather does to the landscape, there are also a number of detailed close-ups and infographics. Kids can see first hand how temperature change affects life both indoors and outside.
A walk among the clouds. You can draw the clouds and see how they are affected by different altitudes and natural structures like mountains. Kids can even jump into a cloud and combine droplets or crystals of ice to make different types of precipitation.
Tornado! And along with the everyday weather, kids can also learn about extreme events like hurricanes and tornadoes. After zooming in on a tornado, you can see how it forms and what happens on the ground.
What is it about?
The app brings weather to life. You can explore the mundane weather or even see what its like in a tornado or hurricane. The in-depth closeups and inforgraphics are amazingly designed and could even teach adults a thing or two.
