WebMicroscope

The WebMicroscope Viewer provides and excellent interface for viewing gigapixel or even terapixel sized microscopy images that reside on a WebMicroscope Server.

BACKGROUND

The WebMicroscope Viewer is a part of the WebMicroscope Software Solution, a software as a service (SaaS) platform for virtual microscopy that includes functionalities for management, analysis and viewing of digitized microscopy samples. The software can handle so called whole-slide images (WSI), which means that microscopy samples are scanned at high optical magnification and stitched into a large-size picture montage that represents the entire sample.

The WebMicroscope Software Solution serves as a platform for a wide range of applications and activities, including education, research, large-scale slide seminars, laboratory quality assurance projects, and publication supplements. The WebMicroscope Software Solution is typically offered as a cloud service, but can also be installed locally at campuses and institutions. WebMicroscope applications also include groundbreaking new interfaces for viewing virtual slides on giant-size multitouch display panels.


FEATURES

The current version of the app is integrated with the WebMicroscope web portal and the whole slide images (virtual slides) are launched from the website. Please visit http://www.webmicroscope.net/demoslides or click Demo links under the List view in the app to access examples of virtual slides.
