What is it about?
Het Westerkwartier is een coulissen- en dijkenlandschap, dat wordt ingeklemd tussen de Stad Groningen, het Lauwersmeergebied en de provincies Drenthe en Friesland. Wierden, sloten, graslanden en kronkelende wegen geven afwisseling in het wijdse landschap. Vooral het oudste cultuurlandschap van Nederland en zelfs van Noordwest Europa mag niet worden overgeslagen.
