What is WhoKnew? WhoKnew is an exciting and fun way to learn about some of the interesting fun facts in the world!

The different functions:

- full of random fun facts around the world
- check the sources from which these facts were gathered from
- save the facts to your Photos
- educational
- fun to show friends
- thoughtfully hand made graphics
- saves more of your phone's storage by calling the images from a database rather than locally storing them on the app
- share the facts you have learned with everyone using social media, iMessage, Mail, and much more!

Note: I am not responsible for fact checking. I just gathered these facts from different sources to share to the world.

What sets WhoKnew apart from the other fun fact apps? Unlike the other fun fact apps, WhoKnew has a corresponding image to each fact to make learning new things fun and interesting, rather than a plain screen that just displays the fact.

What lead me to create this app? I am always interested in learning new things, so I downloaded multiple fun fact apps. However, When I saw how boring the apps were and how plain the facts were presented, I thought “What’s the point of even having an app to learn new facts? You might as well just look at a list of them”! So I decided why not make my own app that makes learning cool things…well.. cooler?

What is the process of making a fun fact app? The first thing to making a fun fact app is well obviously finding the facts. After finding about 405 facts, I decided that would be a good start. The next step is to hand take, find, or adjust each image to go with the corresponding facts. After having most of the work done, I thought it would be time to design the actual app interface. I designed multiple versions of the app in a program called Sketch before settling on one. I then had to transfer everything into Xcode and code the app with all it’s different capabilities. With most of the work finished, one of the last parts was to come up with the name for this app. I didn't just want to call it “FunFacts” because that has no personality just like all the other apps. So for the naming process I decided to go to my mom for her opinion, since I couldn't think of any good ones. She then came up with "WhoKnew" right away. Along with coming up with the name I had to create the app icon. Finally the last step was to submit the app to Apple, and have my victory party for completing this app which took me a year to build.
