Wine Societies connects buyers and sellers of fine wine. Our online marketplace allows buyers to request wine by the glass, bottle or case, in the time frame they want to buy. Sellers, who typically are fine wine retailers and wineries, listen to requests and respond with their offers. Sellers can also directly post their inventory, to reach listening buyers. Buyers are notified of offers that match their request, and can choose those that best meet their criteria. Wine Societies consummates the transaction for both parties. Buyers can either procure the wine at the seller venue, or the seller can ship wine to the buyer. Buyers may choose to gift their purchase. They simply email the transaction receipt to the recipient, to claim wine from the seller. A rating and review option allows buyers to rate the wine, seller, and price paid, enabling the correlation of ratings to price — U.S. Patent 7,881,960.
