App Store Description

The Wonderful Wizard of OZ is the first book from the OZ-series of American writer Frank Baum. For beginner English learners, it can be difficult to find something easy to understand and interesting enough. OZ-series, from this point of view, a very good choice. Everybody knows story of the first book. But the series consists of 14. And many of the following books are even better than the first.

This app allows you to learn the most frequent (except the simplest) and the most important for understanding words of each chapter before listening it. To memorize words, images and explanations of the meanings by more simple English words are used.

Listening a series of audiobooks by one author is very useful. This is called narrow reading (in this case, "narrow listening"). Authors often use the same words and phrases many times. Listening to the same words and phrases again and again in different contexts trains their recognition by ear and helps to memorize their meaning better.

If you still do not take English well by ear - you can read before listening. The app contains the texts of all the chapters.

For English learners, it is important to choose basic English version for study (British English or American English). American English gives more opportunities to combine entertainment and learning (audiobooks, tv shows, cartoons, movies).

The app propose to learn American English version. Audiobook was red by Phil Chenevert, American-speaking narrator.
