Wound healing is a complex regeneration process characterised by intercalating degradation and re-assembly of connective tissue and the epidermal layer. If adequate care is not taken or if it’s left untreated, the wound can lead to infection.
Tracking and monitoring the wound healing process is time-consuming, and essentially requires frequent wound assessment reports from the clinician. But it is not implemented due to a workforce shortage. Interaction between clinicians and patients is limited to one or two visits a month per patient, and it is later left up to the patients or caregivers to manage and take care of their wounds.
