• distraction-free writing
an app for writing and nothing else. Linguistic Design’s minimal interface eliminates distractions and allows you to focus more intently on your writing. There’s only one thing to do: write.

• simplified keyboard
Why use an antiquated keyboard layout that was designed around the limitations of mechanical typewriters? Linguistic Design’s new simplified keyboard is designed exclusively for touch and optimized for linguistic patterns. Unlike the archaic qwerty layout which was actually designed to slow you down, the new keyboard layout is efficient and ergonomic. Give it one week. And your typing will not only be faster, but more comfortable and natural.

• standard keyboard options
Standard keyboard layouts are also available if you prefer. In fact, there are 46 different keyboard layouts for 18 different languages. Or, you can use the standard iOS keyboard. Just remember to set your preference in system Settings.

• ephemeral text layout
It's easy to get lost in a sea of text. And the typical blinking caret is either too obscure or too obtrusive. Linguistic Design helps you stay focused with visual effects that are subtle yet powerful: As you type, surrounding text simply fades away, leaving the current word as the center of interest. The experience preserves your train of thought and keeps you on target.

• gesture-based text editing
Touch to select. Swipe to navigate. Pinch to zoom. Shake to change settings. Gestures are elegant alternatives to buttons and pop-up menus. Linguistic Design makes extensive use of gestures for many text editing operations. Once learned, these gestures are never forgotten and quickly become second nature.

• gesture-based keyboard
keyswipe - press a key and slightly push your finger upward, downward, left or right.
The keyswipe gesture can be used to modify a key's input. It's how you capitalize letters (keyswipe upward). And it can also be used to quickly insert alternative punctuations as well as language specific diacritics and digraphs. With a little practice, you'll never want to go back to the standard keyboard.

• personal typography
Typography is personal. Linguistic Design respects that. Choose your favorite typeface and color scheme and the entire interface will conform to your style. You can write in whatever mood you're in.
