In this app, Wageningen University & Research makes use of Augmented Reality (AR) and GPS to present the user with specific information, depending on their location. AR is a technique used, for instance, in the game Pokémon GO: the camera function of your phone adds 3D objects to your surroundings. With this app, the user sees orbs which remain virtually anchored around them. The orbs are windows to content, offering access to new or extra worlds. Content can be presented in various formats, such as 360 video, PDF or contact information. After viewing the content, the user returns to the virtual reality world with the orbs.
