X Ambassadors have created an audio-only music video for their single, “Boom,” to allow fans to explore their song in an entirely new way – celebrating the relation to the music that fans with low-vision experience.
Inspired by keyboardist Casey’s own interaction with music videos as a blind person, the
app uses Microsoft’s Windows Sonic technology to create an immersive, spatialized sound experience.
Join frontman (and Casey’s brother) Sam as his feet go “boom boom boom” on 2 different journeys:
Ithaca, New York, around the brothers’ boyhood home
Bushwick, Brooklyn, on the streets around their old rehearsal studio
Field recordings from each location bring the surroundings to life.
After downloading and launching the app, you’ll be taken through a brief tutorial on how the spatialized sound works: Move your device around and the sounds of the song will move as well.
It’s a music video, without video, for everyone to enjoy.
