App Store Description

The Y1 pupils at Ynystawe Primary School in partnership with Value Added Education have produced an app inspired by #EveryoneCanCode #EveryoneCanCreate.

This is an app for teachers and parents to engage and inspire younger children. The app has been created by the pupils with all content made on iPad. If you are a teacher and want to enhance a Flight topic this app is for you, or a parent who wants to engage a child outside of school this is also for you.

Listen to our ‘Wake up Little Robin’ poem created by the pupils and recorded using the GarageBand app, and read along to the words written by the pupils with added illustrations in the Pages app.

The pupils have gathered information about birds and added them to Data cards using the Pages app. The cards randomly generate to allow the pupils to compare values and play games against each other.

Want to find out information about British birds ? Watch the pupils ‘Bird Facts’ videos to find out further information and facts.

The ‘Pigeon Welsh’ section allows pupils to develop their Welsh language skills relevant to their Year group. The random generator shows a Welsh question to ask a partner to begin a conversation.

While out with parents or on a school field trip using the Bird Spotting Diary to keep a record of birds spotted. Name the bird spotted and a description of the location. Then take a picture of the bird that will remain within the app as part of the diary.

Illustrations within the app have been drawn by Y6 pupils using the Keynote app and Apple Pencil.
