You can also set a specific status for each batch, such as "not ripe yet," "ripe," "overripe," or "spoiled," to know its exact condition at a glance.

Essential Advice
Get advice right in the app with a comprehensive list of tips for home cheesemakers. This guide covers critical aspects of the aging process, including:
Temperature & Humidity: Maintain a stable temperature, as most cheeses mature best between 10°C and 14°C (50°F–57°F). Control humidity carefully, aiming for a relative humidity of around 80–90%.
Hygiene: Keep your aging surfaces clean to prevent bacteria and molds from spreading.
Aging Techniques: Turn your cheese regularly to prevent misshaping and use breathable paper instead of plastic to allow airflow. You can also experiment with creative washes using wine or beer to develop unique flavor profiles.
Patience & Observation: Be patient and resist cutting too early, as cheese needs time to develop complex flavors. Smell is a key indicator—a sharp ammonia odor might signal over-ripening, while a mild, earthy smell is normal.
