Zee Bangla was launched on September 15, 1999 as Alpha Bangla, the first Bangla satellite channel. Since beginning, this channel aimed to uphold Bengal's culture to the world. Megastar Prasenjit Chatterjee also became an anchor for the first time on TV with Banglar Sera Paribar. Daily soaps such as Rashi, Keya Patar Nouko, Saat Pake Badha, Khela, Khona, Agnipariksha and Subarnalata have reflected Bengali ethos in a never-before manner.
