Zippe Drivers earn more on each taxi trip while giving back to their community tenfold. Be part of the rideshare revolution by joining a taxi service that prioritises flexible work schedules for Drivers, an on-demand taxi service for riders, and an ethical approach to Driver earnings.

We put the dignity of Drivers and the safety of riders first, with a "give back" approach to local travel. From supporting local charities to plans to invest in the up-skilling of our Drivers, we're here to better the rideshare model for everyone.

What is Zippe?

Founded in 2017 by ex-driver Daniel McIntyre, Zippe was set up with a simple belief: transportation is more than just a service – it’s a responsibility. In Zippe’s Founder’s own words,

“Having driven a taxi and private hire vehicle for a couple of years and witnessed the destruction Uber had brought to the trade, I wanted to provide the public with a taxi app that uses the good points about Uber but leaves out the bad.”

We're determined to ensure that every ride under our service is safe, reliable, and responsible: both for riders and Drivers. By putting the welfare of Drivers, customers, and our employees first, we're aiming to challenge rideshare norms with a socially responsible approach that supports the local community.

In our founder's words, “at the core of our proposition is the idea of giving back.”

Where did Zippe come from?

Before launching our taxi app, we spent years in the private hire industry. Thanks to our rigorous approach to safety standards, dignified work, and ethical journeys, we're local authority-approved transport providers for vulnerable people and children in need, and are now a private hire transport supplier for:

- Bath
- North East Somerset
- North Somerset
- Somerset
- City of Bristol
- South Gloucestershire
- Gloucestershire
- Liverpool
- Cardiff
- Wiltshire
- Swindon

Our origins - the Home-2-School service - provides safe, on-time, and stress-free home-to-school journeys for those who need it most, while equipping our Drivers with predictable and well-paid work.

How do we treat Drivers?

It all begins with fair earnings and working conditions for Drivers, with in-process plans to provide training that spans welfare, safeguarding, and minority needs.

For Drivers, we commit to providing:

- Market-beating commission rates
- Revolutionary Driver app and support services
- A benefits structure that enables Drivers to remain as self-employed workers
- Holiday pay and optional pension contributions

- To come: Well-being program, Driver relaxation hubs and lifestyle rewards

To become a Zippe Driver, you must,

- Hold a valid driver’s licence
- Have access to your own/rented licensed vehicle
- Have a UK-enhanced DBS Check
- Hold a valid private hire or Hackney Licence
- Be fully compliant on the Zippe Driver App

Zippe has built a taxi workforce of experienced Drivers who have the needs of their local community top of mind.
