The purpose of this App is to bridge the gap between diverse Australian Artists of Arab and Middle Eastern backgrounds and their communities.
Wiki definition of Arab Australians; Arab Australians refers to Australian citizens or residents with ancestry from the Middle East and North Africa, regardless of their ethnic origins. The majority are not ethnically Arab but numerous groups who include Arabs, Kurds, Copts, Druze, Maronites, Assyrians, Berbers, Turkmens and others. The majority are Christian by faith with minorities being Muslim, Druze, Yazidi and other faiths.
There are approximately 540,000 Migrants of Arab and Middle Eastern backgrounds in Australia and New Zealand who are craving connection to their culture and heritage through music.
The Three largest Australian states, New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, continue to account for the largest contributions to net overseas migration nationally as of 30 June 2019 according to the Australian bureau of Statistics and these are also the states with the largest numbers of Arab Migrants in Australia.
The app will also provide a gateway to experiencing musical culture whilst creating a community of like-minded individuals through building awareness of the artists and diverse musical skillset available in Australia and New Zealand.
One of the goals of the app is to ensure easy access to artists and musicians who are available to perform for people from various backgrounds but specifically for people who have migrated to Australia and New Zealand from The Middle East and North Africa. Performances during cultural festivals and celebrations are a big part of the Australian and New Zealand culture with an aim of showcasing Australians of diverse cultures including Middle-Eastern and North African culture. Zoom-in App would provide an opportunity for quick access to talent across Australia and New Zealand, thus utilising the functionality of the app for artist bookings for various festivals, events and celebrations.
Research shows that newly arrived migrants and refugees struggle with homesickness in the early years of settlement in Australia, which leads to craving activities that bring back a sense of Nostalgia and belonging. By creating this app we are creating a community who share similar values and beliefs, whilst giving them easy access to music that brings back a piece of their heritage and homeland. This is also a big goal od The Australian and New Zealand Government to instil a sense of belonging and understanding between diverse cultures and with it creating a sense of harmony and an increased sense of belonging.
The app also acts as a connection to global artists, musicians and music enthusiasts. Granting Global artists access to explore Australian & New Zealand Artists of Arab and Middle-Eastern backgrounds hence building even bigger and better connections globally, ensuring a better understanding of The Music, Art and Culture of The Middle East and North Africa region.
The App will also be a connection point for Australian and New Zealand Artists of Middle Eastern backgrounds people.
