Earlier today at ~9AM PST, the much-anticipated App Store was made available via iTunes 7.7 (now available for PC as well as MAC).
For the next 21 hours you'll need a beta developers license to access and download from the store on your iPhone (UPDATE: see how to DOWNLOAD firmware 2.0 early!), as it requires 2.0 Firmware which won't be made available to the public until tomorrow's release of the Apple 3G iPhone.
At a glance:
- there are 552 app listings at launch
- of that number, 133 are FREE (~24%)
- apps are divided amongst 18 categories (apps can appear under 2 separate cats)
- fee apps are priced from $0.99 - $69.99
- most expensive app at launch? ForeFlight Mobile- "delivers PreFlight Intelligence(tm) to pilots around the world."
