How to get iPhone 2.0 Firmware Early

An advanced copy of the iPhone 2.0 Firmware, previously only available to beta participants of the Apple Dev Program, was unearthed by Mac Rumors earlier today. Why is this cool? You'll be able to access, download, and play with applications directly on your iPhone early -- if only for a day (tomorrow's impending launch of the 3G iPhone will mark the public release of firmeware 2.0)! Please note, this upgrade will not work on the iPod Touch. You can download it here: iPhone1,2_2.0_5A347 To initiate the manual install, press the Option key while clicking "Check for Update" in iTunes. You will then be able to manually select the .ipsw file you just downloaded. After install, 2.0 heaven awaits! Apple's Updating Guide warns about firmware upgrades, and if you employ this method you proceed at your own risk!
