PwnageTool 2.0.2 Now Available, Includes Installer 4.0

August 9, 2008

PwnageTool 2.0.2 has officially been released by the Dev Team. This iteration will successfully 'pwn' Apple's new 2.0.1 firmware, just as PwnageTool 2.0.1 worked on 2.0. For those impatient jailbreakers who experienced problems after upgrading to the new firmware prematurely, this timely release from the Dev Team has to be much appreciated. Though a 3G unlock is not yet available, the Dev Team's latest creation WILL include Installer 4.0 beta, escalating the battle we detailed in Cydia 2.0 vs. Installer 4.0. Both Cydia and Installer 4.0 beta will be enabled by default in PwnageTool 2.0.2. You can get PwnageTool 2.0.2 by updating your current version of PwnageTool (courtesy of the built-in Sparkle framework), or by manual download HERE or HERE. You can get the new 2.0.1 firmware for 1st gen iPhones HERE and for iPhone 3G HERE. In the meantime, here's the entire post straight from the Dev Team: Good Morning!
Did you think we’d sleep? really? Recommended method for updating is Sparkle (the internal updater inside PwnageTool) or using the Finder to decompress the files, don’t use command line tools to decompress as incorrect use will not preserve permissions, just double click the download above in the Finder. Installer 4 Beta is included, it is added in any mode by default. The main installer package management interface within PwnageTool isn’t enabled yet, and will report that installer.app isn’t available, but the actual Installer.app package is added as a default option in both modes. The latest Cydia is also enabled by default Our server is suffering at the moment, please hang on, if you choose to download the file PwnageTool_2.0.2.tbz from anywhere else, then check the SHA1 sum.
