More Discoveries In 2.2 Beta 2

October 28, 2008

As we reported earlier this week some changes are being made to the App Stores UI in the 2.2 Beta 2 firmware, and now screenshots released by iPhone Hellas (shown above) are giving us some insight into what some of these changes will be. It appears that Apple is looking to promote more consumer ratings in the App Store, prompting users to review an app upon deletion. This method might skew ratings in a negative direction because customers usually only delete apps when they don't like them. App owners can still leave a review by just going to the App Store. Another cool discovery is that the current firmware only allows users to see one screenshot when viewing an app at the App Store, but at iTunes you have the option of seeing up to five. Now with the new firmware it seems like the ability to see multiple screenshots from the App Store on your iPhone or iPod Touch will be available. As you can see on the screenshot above there are arrows leading you to the next image, whereas on the current firmware those are not available.
