October 22, 2008
Etymotic Research, a self-proclaimed world-leader in earphone development, has released the new ruby red hf2 premium iPhone headset.
This hot new color is a follow up to the hugely popular original version which only came in black (shown above). Testing on the black headset started in 66 stores across the U.S. in March 2008, but the overwhelming acceptance of the product pushed distribution to expand to all U.S. Apple Stores, as well as Apple Europe, Apple China and Apple Australia. Currently the ruby version is only available at Amazon.com, select U.S. Apple Stores and Apple Online.
hf2 headset features include:
3.5 mm stereo jack with a premium in-line microphone
closer mouth placement than other headsets resulting in better voice clarity
Mic pod houses the end/send/track-forward button
Music mutes and pauses automatically for incoming calls and resumes play after the call ends
High-fidelity headset
Hands Free
The hf2 has won numerous awards against thousands of others vying competitors, putting it at the top of its class as far as headsets go, which is most likely why they are are priced so high...
The headsets have a recommended retail price of $179.
Sounds like you're buying a real ruby for these prices, but if you're looking for spectacular sound quality, this may be your best bet.
