Removal Of NDA Spurs Information For iPhone Developers

October 9, 2008
iPhone development is no longer bound by the NDA, and since its removal, there has been a steady flow of educational information released for developers. Xcode Instructor and co-author of iPhone SDK Development, Bill Dudney, of The Pragmatic Programmers, has created an educational screencast for those interested in turning their dreams of being an iPhone developer into reality. The video gives an introduction to iPhone development starting with Xcode and Interface Builder, and shows Dudney creating a simple application while teaching users how to work with the SDK. You can view the video here. If you like Dudley's style you can catch him in Denver, CO in November where he will be teaching a course on iPhone programming. Another renowned iPhone developer, Erica Sadun, has also released helpful tips for newbies to aid in their understanding of the iPhone application process. Her highly anticipated book, "The iPhone Developer's Cookbook" is available for .pdf download from informIT for $28.79, and if you become member it's a little cheaper. You can also wait until October 15th and get yourself a paper copy. Both the video and the cookbook are great resources for anyone trying to get into the field of iPhone development, and are indicators of the collaboration that can take place now that the NDA is a non-factor.
