Rumor: iPhone May Drop Price For Costco

November 12, 2008
Rumors are flying that Apple may have a deal with Costco to sell the iPhone at a reduced rate coming this January. Analyst Trip Chowdhry, from the Global Equities Research founder, claims that if the iPhone is going to be sold at Costco, it will be sold at the low price of $149. Chowdhry has not yet revealed any sources in connection to this rumor. If Apple is going to sell the iPhone at Costco, and at a reduced rate, it can be assured that there will be a lot more iPhones in the hands of consumers. The end result could theoretically boost Apple's overall iPhone sales, which may be reason enough to cut the price. Costco is known for getting large name brands to cut prices just so they can be sold in Costco stores. We'll just have to wait until January to see if this rumor pans out.
