Google Adsense Targets iPhone Browser

December 11, 2008
AdWords advertisers can rejoice over Google's announcement -- they will launch an AdSense campaign aimed at the iPhone and other phones with Internet browsers. Google AdWords and AdSense give website owners the ability to include text, image, video and search advertisements on their pages to get paid on a per-click basis. Spots are allotted by the site publisher and the advertisements are chosen based on similar keywords that appear on the site. With the implementation of this campaign Internet advertisers will be able to easily reach those surfing the mobile web. Desktop ads will now show up on mobile web searches along with mobile ads. This is great news for web advertisers and iPhone owners because the old text links were always hard to click on, you would have to expand the page in order to click the link you wanted. This news comes weeks after Google revealed optimized search results for the iPhone. The new Google search results for the iPhone proved to be as superb as the mobile version of Google Reader, which makes it easier to scroll through pages and follow links. Website publishers that are currently running mobile ads will not be affected, Google still allows for advertisements specifically tailored for mobile browsers.
