iPhone Nano Knockoffs

December 28, 2008
The iPhone Nano rumor isn't going away. As MacWorld Expo 2009 approaches, Southeast Asia continues to stir the pot with pictures of iPhone Nano plastic cases, adding the category "iPhone Nano" to their website, and now we have pictures of some pretty convincing counterfeits from Apple Insider. The devices are knockoffs but look a lot like an authentic Apple made iPhone, at least from the photos. Pictures of the powered-on iPhone show icons that are identical to the real iPhone's. Aidan Malley warns readers, "Aside from obvious color changes such as splashes of gold or pink, these clones are (when switched off) close enough to the original that they may pass for an iPhone nano to the untrained eye. As such, readers should be on the lookout for such claims in the run-up to January's Macworld Expo." If Apple releases an iPhone Nano next month I will be bitter. I will be covetous towards those that have them, until I have one. I don't want the rumor to materialize, frankly. But I'd be lying if I said the iPhone Nano doesn't look pretty sweet, even as a knockoff.
