Leopard Update iPhone Fix

December 19, 2008

Earlier this week Apple released the OS X Leopard update - 10.5.6 - which prevented machines from recognizing the iPhone in DFU mode. This caused a lot of problems for owners of unlocked iPhones. They were cautioned to wait for a fix, and now we have one. Hackint0sh has provided a one-click solution: Automator programm Fix_DFU_10_5_6. Here is what to do: Download the program here. Unzip the archive and place the folder "Install_IOUSBFamily_kext_10_5_5" on your Desktop. Open the folder and start the program Fix_DFU_10_5_6. Click OK in the README box. You'll be prompted for your admin password - you must be logged in as administrator while doing this. After that the program will get to work and reboot your machine. It will also save a backup file to your desktop. That's it. Many thanks to Volkspost at Hackint0sh for this fix.
