Yellowsn0w is Here

January 2, 2009

It's here, finally! As promised, iPhone owners can start the year fresh free from the shackles of AT&T. The increasingly famous iPhone Dev-Team released their groundbreaking hack dubbed yellowsn0w - which will free up the iPhone 3G for other wireless carriers. But the application hasn't exactly lived up to our expectations. Apparently it isn't working well for many people who wanted to start 2009 with an unlocked iPhone. A hackint0sh poll says that yellowsn0w did not work for 57% of those that tried it. The iPhone Dev-Team offers a little encouragement: "If the soft unlock doesn’t work for you on day 1 (literally day 1, of 2009!) then please don’t panic or be impatient." Comment and let me know if it works for you. From the iPhone Dev-Team: Cydia source: http://apt9.yellowsn0w.com/ Installer repo: http://i.yellowsn0w.com/
