Airline Offers iPhone Connectors In Economy Class

February 1, 2009
This might be of interest to those of you who travel often. Singapore Airlines has announced that passengers of their new Airbus A330-300 aircraft will have iPhone and iPod connectors, including passengers in the economy class. Singapore Airlines already has planes that include these connectors in their all-business class but they claim the Airbus A330-300 is the first to offer the feature to economy passengers. All economy seats include in-seat power, 10.6 inch personal television screen, a USB port and the coveted iPhone and iPod connector. Not to mention they also include an independent cup holder so you won't have to use the unreliable tray cup holder. The connectors will allow travelers to read documents, view photos, play music or even waste some time watching videos through their award-winning entertainment system. No more worrying about your iPhone battery dying right in the middle of a good film. The planes have already started to be put into use on medium-haul routes. It would be nice to see even some of these features become standard on more airlines. [via Essential Travel]
