Last week we received an updated free version of AIM for the iPhone. AOL assured us that the ad-free paid version would be released soon after. Today, AOL released that paid version of AIM for the iPhone, and it's exactly what you would expect.
AIM Paid is the same as AIM Free, just without the annoying ads. It allows users to stay logged in for 24 hours, send SMS text messages and it gives users the ability to broadcast their current location, just like the free version.
So what does it cost? AIM Paid comes in at the low price of $2.99. Alright, so it isn't exactly low, but it may be worth it just to avoid seeing those annoying ads pop-up every few seconds. Plus, the paid version has a nifty new purple icon instead of the same old red one which makes paying for it totally worth it.
