It appears that Apple and China Unicom may have finally struck a deal to bring the iPhone 3G to China.
According to representatives from the British consulting firm Ovum, the iPhone could be in China as early as May of this year as long as everything goes smoothly.
China Unicom plans on testing out their brand new WCDMA network on May 17th. Apple's iPhone uses the WCDMA standard so it could be the deciding factor as to when the iPhone will arrive in China.
In mid-February, we reported that Apple had been negotiating with both China Unicom and China Mobile, but talks had seemingly broke down between the companies. China Unicom is the second largest carrier in China, right behind China Mobile.
Neither Apple or China Unicom have commented on if a deal has been officially reached.
