The web has been alive today with rumors that a special Apple event will take place on March 24th. If the rumors are true, will the event showcase any iPhone related items? It looks unlikely.
Two Apple specific news sites, World of Apple and My Apple Guide, have reported that on March 24th Apple will be holding a special event showcasing refreshes to the Mac mini, iMac and Mac Pro. My Apple Guide also indicates that there will be a "pleasant surprise" showcased as well. It has been reported that this event will be like last year's laptop event, only this time with desktops.
Neither site has had a great track record in breaking Apple news.
From the looks of things, this obviously isn't the iPhone event we have all been waiting for. If you are an optimistic person, you may hold out hope that a "pleasant surprise" means a new iPhone, but I wouldn't bet the house on it.
