The iPhone can be an extremely useful tool for almost any task imaginable, and there seems to be just about an application for everything these days. A London based girl band named The Mentalists have utilized all of these things to perform a live cover of MGMT's song Kids, and it turns out that they are pretty good at it.
The song was performed using only applications downloaded from Apple's App Store played on their iPhones and iPods. The applications utilized in the performance were Ocarina, Retro Synth, miniSynth and DigiDrummer Lite.
Disregard any feelings you may have towards the choice of music and/or the people involved. Allow yourself to really take it in and realize how difficult it must be to do an entire song with only your iPhone or iPod touch. It's quite the accomplishment.
Now, how about one of you musically inclined people whip up a heavy metal song using only App Store applications and post it on YouTube. I would definitely listen to that.
