BargainBin: Out Of The Pocket And Into The App Store!

March 13, 2009
After more than two months of waiting, BargainBin is finally coming out of the pocket! Last week we gave up hope and announced BargainBin was “pocket rejected.” Well yesterday at 6:13PM PST we were happily proved wrong, as Apple approved the application. What finally got it approved? Was it the article? Your comments and emails to Apple? Seeking help from anyone we could find who “knew someone at Apple?” We don’t know but we’re very excited that our viewers will actually get to enjoy it first hand. First, if you missed the mock infomercial, check it out here. We can guarantee it will make you laugh.

So what was all the fuss about? What exactly is BargainBin?

BargainBin is a FREE real time feed of every app that ever goes on sale in the App Store.

Although BargainBin is rich with features, its simplicity is what sets it apart. To be honest a feed of price changes in the app store is not that hard to come by, so we aimed to make BargainBin much more than a noisy list. An intuitive interface allows users to pick sales in specific categories, and even filter that list to only show bargains (an app dropping more than 50% of it’s last price) or apps that have just turned free for a limited time. If you press and hold on any app you can view screenshots, read the app description, and even email the bargain to a friend. It’s a free app, so rather than listen to me talk about go download it and let us know what you think. Our goal is to make it so addicting that you’ll have trouble letting more than a couple of hours pass by without checking it; let us know if we succeeded. It’s our first app and we want to implement as many ideas as you can come up with. Thanks again for the support and we look forward to getting your feedback.
