Scrabble addicts rejoice! The Game Developers Conference (
GDC) has finally commenced, and the first big piece of news coming out of the conference concerning the iPhone is the addition of Facebook Connect to
Scrabble. The update is immediately available for download.
The update gives you the ability to create or connect to a Scrabble game almost instantly on
Facebook with your friends. The update will also allow you to chat with your friends through the application. Other new features include the ability to see what your friends are playing on Facebook, view detailed stats, invite friends from your address book, and even create a Facebook account from the application itself.
If you already own Scrabble, this is just icing on the cake. The update is free, Facebook of course is free, and
Scrabble on Facebook is free to play.
This is where iPhone gaming can separate itself from other mobile gaming services. Social networking sites already have ginormous user bases, making it an easy, well-known place for iPhone users to connect.
