Gamer's Corner

March 31, 2009
Action, adventure, puzzle, racing, strategy, role playing...it just keeps going! How can anyone expect to keep up? With over thousands, yes thousands, of applications in the app store as well as the new additions that are added each day it's no wonder things can get a tad overwhelming. What's good? What sucks? Is this worth $4.99? Is that worth $.99? I think you get the point, which brings me to why I'm even writing this in the first place. I'm here to help Gamer's Corner is here for anything and everything relating to games on the IPhone and IPod Touch. From the newest releases to the latest news, I will be providing weekly columns on all of your gaming needs. As well as talking about whatever is important or interesting to you guys, the readers. Because let's face it, if your not involved in this process, what's the point. So comment, and comment often. I'll do my best to read every one of them and reply as well. I also welcome suggestions on something you'd like to hear more about or whatever else you might like to see on here as well. Again, just like the reviews in the app store help shape future updates for your apps, the same goes here. Now I know what you're thinking...who is this guy and what authority does he have, if any? Right? Okay, so maybe you aren't thinking this, but I wanted to put a sort of stats section in here and that was my opening...it's my column. I'll do what I want. Basically I've owned every gaming system since the Atari 2600. I had Pac-Man, Missile Command, and that terrible E.T. game that had like no point to it what so ever. Seriously! What was the point of that game? You always got stuck at the bottom of some damn pit and then had to float or "levitate" out of it for what seemed like forever! Man that game was terrible...just terrible. Anyways, you name it, I had it.

Even some of the bad like Sega Saturn, Sega CD (although Sewer Shark wasan awesome game at the time), that weird red 3D virtual Gameboy thing they tried way back that basically just ruined your eyesight and was also, well, terrible. And plenty of good as well. Everything Nintendo has ever made, Playstation, Xbox, etc. I think you get the point. So it's only natural that my progression in games would lead me to the IPhone and it's amazing user interface. Remember when GameGear came out and was suppose to revolutionize hand held gaming? Well it didn't, but apple certainty has. Each new game that I've seen just keeps getting better and better. Once we get the third generation of the iPhone, I can only imagine what it will be capable of producing. Either way, if your a video game freak like me, it's certainly going to be an exciting year for the IPhone and IPod Touch. See you next week...
