Sony Pictures Television Announces New Game Titles
Sony Pictures Television recently announced that they intend to bring some new titles to their 2009 iPhone lineup that may excite quite a few old school gamers out there. The new titles include Ghostbusters, Q*Bert, Top Agent, and Jeopardy. Jeopardy isn't a big surprise, as they already have made Wheel of Fortune for the iPhone, but Ghostbusters is an unexpected announcement. Ghostbusters, for many, has a huge nostalgia factor deeply ingrained in it, so it shouldn't be too difficult to sell fans of the films on this game. Ghostbusters has already been announced for the "big three" consoles, but this is the first time an iPhone version has been mentioned, and due to that fact, little is known about it. The game's story, at least for the console versions, is being written by Dan Ackroyd and Harold Ramis, the writers of the original films. The game will include most of the original cast including my favorite funny man Bill Murray. Dan Ackroyd has said that the game will basically be considered Ghostbusters 3. All that we know at this point is that the game will take place right after the events of Ghostbusters 2 and will involve ghost catching in New York while including some of your favorite original villains. The game is set to arrive at the App Store in mid-June. They are also working on a remake of the popular arcade classic Q*Bert. Some of you may recall that we reported a while back about another company creating their own version of this classic, aptly titled CuBert. Well, once we heard the news of an official remake we decided to check the App Store to see if CuBert still exists. It turns out that Sony Pictures Television had asked LagMac, the developers of CuBert, to modify their title to less resemble the arcade classic. LagMac is currently still working on the modifications. Sony's Q*Bert will feature crisp graphics, new maps (50 in total), and new animations. Top Agent is a game based on James Bond: 007, and all we know about it is that it will have multi-player action that will allow you to create your own agent to fight against your opponents, basically a Bond MMO. This title is said to arrive in August. Which of these titles are you most excited about? I personally can not wait to try my hand at taking down the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man in Ghostbusters.
