Follow The Masters Tournament With The Official App
April 10, 2009
The iPhone is a valuable tool for all sports fans to keep track of live scores and highlights when away from the television or computer. There is already a large list of applications available at the App Store that allow you to keep track of nearly every major sporting event and that list now includes the Masters Tournament.
The official Masters Golf Tournament application is available at the App Store free of charge if you haven't already noticed. The Masters technically started yesterday, but it doesn't get interesting until the later rounds anyway. This is the first time in history that the Masters Tournament is being offered with live video and scoring through an application, or so the application description claims.
Tbe application offers quite a bit of content including live video for Amen Corner (hole Nos. 11, 12, and 13) and hole Nos. 15 and 16. The Masters Golf Tournament application also offers video interviews, live leaderboards, video highlights from previous rounds, full course map with flyover videos, and tons more. The content can be viewed on Edge, 3G, or WiFi.
I am not much of a golf fan, but being a sports fan in general I can honestly say this application does what it set out to do. The application performs well enough, even with the live video, plus it is completely free of charge so there is no risk involved for simply giving it a try.
The Masters Tournament runs from April 9th-12th.
