Google Updates Gmail And Calendar Web Apps For iPhone

Users of Google's Gmail and Calendar web applications will be happy to know that as of yesterday, Google has updated both of these web applications for the iPhone. The Calendar web application update adds the ability to edit or respond to an event, even without a network connection. The Gmail web application update adds an improved user interface, and they have also introduced what they call a "Floaty Bar."  The Floaty Bar makes common actions such archiving and deleting a simple click away.  Just like Google's Calendar web application, you are able to do certain activities offline including composing a message. If you already have an account set up, access to the web applications is simple.  To access the Gmail web application, simply open your mobile Safari and head to gmail.com; to directly access Google's Calendar web application from your iPhone, use the google.com/calendar/gp link instead.  You can also quickly access other web applications by using the links that are always displayed at the top of the page.  To make their web applications even easier to access, Google recommends creating a home screen link.  It's quick and easy. It's worth noting that Google's web applications are only available on iPhone OS 2.2.1 Here is a video demonstration of the new features:
