Jobs Still Involved In Apple

April 12, 2009

Steve Jobs may have been out of the spotlight, but he hasn't been completely missing from Apple.  According to the Wall Street Journal, the Apple co-founder has been involved in many important matters, just not the day-to-day operations. The report goes on to say that Jobs was "particularly involved" in the development of the new operating system:
Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook runs the day-to-day operations at Apple, these people say. But Mr. Jobs has continued to work on the company's most important strategies and products from home, they say. He regularly reviews products and product plans, and was particularly involved in the user interface of the new iPhone operating system that Apple unveiled last month, these people say.
So does this mean that Jobs will be making his triumphant return to the stage just in time to introduce the next generation iPhone?  There is no way of telling, so we can only hope at this point.  When Jobs took his leave in January, some thought he may never return.  If this report is any indication of things to come, Jobs should at the very least be back to having his hands in the important matters at Apple sometime in June; whether or not he returns to the same role as he once previously held remains to be seen.
