This is our second consecutive day of newly discovered iPhone OS 3.0 features.  Neat, huh?  The iPhone Blog has obtained a few screenshots that indicate Apple has added new MobileMe functions to the iPhone OS 3.0 beta 3 including merge, publish, and tell a friend. mobilemepublishing_iphone A new "Merge with MobileMe" function will allow you to merge the data from your iPhone to your MobileMe account.  For example, if you have a new bookmark on your iPhone and you have enabled MobileMe, a message will slide up asking if you want to merge your data with your MobileMe account, keeping everything neatly synced if you so chose. The new "Publish to MobileMe" function will allow you to do just that, publish files on your MobileMe account.  When publishing, a status bar shows the progress of the item you are currently uploading.  After the file has been published, you can view it from your iPhone or "Tell a Friend." That's it for now, but I am sure there will be many more to come.  I do have to ask this one question for all of you non-MobileMe users out there: Will the addition of functions like these sway you into purchasing MobileMe at $99 per year, or do you still consider it to be way too expensive?
