Peekababe Rejected For Being Too Sexy

April 16, 2009

rejected

It's been fairly quiet around here lately, at least in terms of unwarranted application rejections by Apple, so it comes as no surprise that we have finally come across a brand new case.  We were recently made aware of an application called Peekababe that was rejected by Apple due to its excessive sexual content.  Don't worry, there will be a link to the video soon enough, but you need to hear the full story before ogling at the scantily clad women. Peekababe is a simple application that allows you to take the clothes off of some beautiful women, but none of these women are nude, they are simply stripped down to their lingerie.  You can then set these images as your wallpaper for later viewing.  Sounds simple enough, right?  Well, Apple must have felt that the women just weren't wearing enough because they rejected it. The problem is that Apple has allowed other content in this same vein at the App Store.  Take for example the extremely popular Bikini Blast. Bikini Blast is basically the exact same application, allowing you to view women in nothing but skimpy bikinis and place them as your wallpaper.  That application has been a runaway success at the low price of $.99.  It is still in the top 100 paid applications as we speak.  I don't know about you, but I don't see much of a difference between bikinis and underwear.  There is far worse content available on television everyday, take for example Victoria's Secret underwear commercials. So, could this be a simple case of one Apple's application reviewers having a bad day?  It's possible, the developer of the application intends to fight the rejection so we will just have to wait and see. You have now earned your reward, but I will warn you, if you are a prude like one of Apple's application reviewers, don't follow the link.  It's nothing rated R, just women in undwear and loud techno music.  Here is a link to the YouTube video of Peekababe so you can decide for yourself if this it is excessive sexual content. [Thanks for the tip, Tom!]
