Apple's App Store isn't just about fun and games, it also contains some extremely practical utilities that can assist you in your daily operations. Specifically designed for all of you math geeks out there, Sunset Lake Software recently released Pi Cubed, an intuitive application that allows you to enter and perform math visually, just as you would on a chalkboard.
Even though I am not personally that fond of math, Pi Cubed's unique interface instantly grabbed my attention. Instead of using the standard calculator input method, Pi Cubed uses a full screen touch interface. You are able to use the entire screen as you would a piece of paper or a chalkboard. All of the common touch gestures apply such as pinch-zooming and touch-based panning, allowing you to easily view and edit large equations.
The application features realtime typesetting and evaluation of calculations, over 150 built-in equations, and even the ability to export calculations via email as LaTeX so you can put them to good use.
Pi Cubed is now available at the App Store for $9.99.
I did my best Pi Cubed rundown, but here is a better explanation straight from the developer if you care to watch:
So what does everyone think, should we feature more niche applications like Pi Cubed in our daily news?
