The iPhone just keeps on drawing in the big names in gaming.  This time it's BioWare, the hit RPG developer.  According to a survey taken by one Joystiq reader, BioWare together with EA, will be bringing a brand new Mass Effect title to the iPhone. Mass effect was originally developed by BioWare for the Xbox 360 and was later ported to Microsoft Windows.  The game was a big enough success to spawn an upcoming sequel simply known as Mass Effect 2.  The iPhone version of the game is said to function as a predecessor to Mass Effect 2. According to the survey, the game will tell the story of one Jacob Taylor, "a biotic-powered super-soldier who stumbles across a plot to terrorize civilization's greatest beacon of hope."  Instead of the usual Mass Effect style, the game will be a top-down shooter with stylized graphics to better suit the iPhone's graphical capabilities.  It will contain about two hours of total gameplay and cost $2.99.  If the game is a success, EA and BioWare will look into expanding the series. We have already seen quite a few high profile console games make their way to the iPhone, including the recently released Assassin's Creed, but according to this survey, Mass Effect for the iPhone will be more than a mere port. It's an exciting time to be an iPhone gamer folks.
