Twitterrific Premium 2.0 is on its way. Gedeon Maheux, one of the designers at
the Iconfactory, was able to confirm with us that
Twitterrific Premium has been re-written from the ground up and that it is "due out shortly."
Twitterrific Premium 2.0 will feature a new user interface, tons of user requested features, and it will arrive at a lower price point. What the lower price point will be wasn't divulged, so you will have to just wait and see. The Iconfactory expects
Twitterrific to leapfrog all other Twitter applications currently available at the App Store with the update.
The Iconfactory's
Twitterrific was one of the very first Twitter applications available at the App Store. The Iconfactory didn't have a chance to feel out the App Store's pricing structure, so they decided to price it in line with their desktop version. That decision worked out well for them because
Twitterrific turned out to be one of the best designed applications at the App Store at that time, and even though it was priced at $9.99, it had sold very well.
Now that other Twitter applications like
Tweetie and
Twittelator Pro have come along at much cheaper prices,
Twitterrific Premium has taken a hit, but
Twitterrific has continued to live on through its dedicated fans and free ad-based version.
So, if you haven't made your iPhone Twitter application decision quite yet, I recommend holding out just a little while longer to see what the Iconfactory has to offer.

Twitterrific Premium 2.0 screenshot, it's just my poor Photoshop work. I know, I didn't fool anyone.
