UniWar Brings Online Turn-Based Strategy Gaming To Your iPhone
April 14, 2009
Yeah, you read the title correctly. Developer Xpressed has recently brought their take on the turn-based strategy game genre to the iPhone with their title UniWar, and it looks like a winner.
UniWar is a self-proclaimed blend between Advance Wars for the Nintendo Gameboy and Starcraft for the PC. UniWar is loaded with features including 3 different playable races, over 50 maps, campaign mode with 21 missions, online and offline multiplayer, in-game chat, and tons more.
Xpressed is really pushing their online component in UniWar. The game is able to handle up to 8 players at once including team based games of 2v2, 3v3, and even 4v4. You can also have up to 20 different games going at once, effectively allowing you to take on as many opponents as you can mentally handle. An email notification system is also able to notify you when it is your turn, so you won't have to always be online to be playing. The final piece of the puzzle is that UniWar is a cross-platform game, allowing you to play UniWar against friends with different devices. The question is, who would want to play on a device other than the iPhone?
UniWar is being offered at the App Store for the introductory price of $.99, the game will eventually return to it's regular price of $7.99, so don't drag your feet too long.
