BeatRider Touch Allows You To Play Your Own Music
May 29, 2009

BeatRider is a rhythm game just like Tap Tap Revenge, where you tap the screen as the notes go flying by. The biggest difference between the two games is that BeatRider allows you to play your very own music.
BeatRider contains 4 preinstalled basic tunes along with 1 training tune, which will help you get a feel for the game before you try the good stuff. BeatRider allows you to save up to 20 of your own songs onto your iPhone or iPod touch to play on or offline. Getting your own music onto your device is actually easier than it sounds. Simply launch the application and sign up for an account. Once you are signed up, head over to mybeatrider.com and sign in. The website allows you to easily upload any MP3 or M4A song from your computer's hard drive, and the songs are then processed on their servers. Once the processing is finished, you can go back to the BeatRider application on your iPhone or iPod touch and download all of your music. It works like a charm.
Just to warn you seasoned Tap Tap veterans out there, BeatRider's interface is a bit different, and it might take some getting used to. Also, I recommend turning the annoying "Key Volume" in the options menu all the way down before playing, because all it does is make a clicking sound for every note you hit, which obviously gets in the way of the music.
BeatRider Touch is available in the App Store for $4.99 and it's free to sign up for an account, so there are no additional costs. BeatRider Touch Lite is available for free, but it only allows you to download a single song at a time instead of 20 like the full version.
