Dig Dug REMIX Hits App Store, Contains Original Version As Well

It's always great news when a classic game gets ported to the iPhone, but it's even better news when it's Namco's classic arcade hit, Dig Dug.  This isn't just any old port, however, because Dig Dug REMIX not only gives this classic a fresh look, but it also contains the original game as an added bonus. For those of you who have never played Dig Dug, the gameplay is simple but addicting.  Basically, you must dig down through the dirt while destroying the enemies below using falling rocks or pumping them up with air.  The remixed version contains updated and adorable graphics, big boss battles, power up items, and more.  It even features the famous enemies from the original game: Pooka and Fygar.  Of course, the original remains unchanged. Dig Dug REMIX allows you to use two different control methods: a new swipe-and-hold control, or the classic virtual d-pad.  If you have somewhat large or pudgy fingers, we recommend that you try  the swipe-and-hold method as the on-screen d-pad is fairly small. Dig Dug REMIX is priced a bit high for a classic port at $5.99, but Namco is obviously aware people are willing to pay a premium for such classics as they have done so in the past with other titles like Galaga REMIX.
