Because of yesterday's 4.7 earthquake in Southern California, we decided to take a look at some of the applications the App Store has to offer to keep track of these natural events while on-the-go. ifeltthat_screen Yesterday's quake hit at 8:39 P.M. near Lennox, California, which is a community east of the Los Angeles International Airport.  The earthquake initially registered as a magnitude 5, but it was later downgraded to a 4.7 with an aftershock of 3.1.  This may not have been the biggest earthquake, but no matter the size, it definitely makes everyone aware, so we want to help you be even more informed about events like this one while away from home. Here is a list of some of the better applications the App Store has to offer to track earthquakes around the globe: QuakeWatch: Available for free, this application lists earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 and greater from around the world over the past week. Epicentral: Available for free, this application displays a global map of earthquake epicenters over the past week. Earthquake Watch: Priced at $1.99, this brand new application displays earthquakes from all over the globe in a table view, including magnitude and location. It's worth nothing that it was developed by an aspiring 11-year-old iPhone developer. iFeltThat: Priced at $2.99, this relatively new application offers up-to-the-second information about earthquakes in 16 regions, including North America.  It even has a zoomable Google Maps within the application to show you where the earthquakes have happened. This is just our short list of applications, so feel free to leave a comment below detailing your favorite earthquake application for the iPhone or iPod touch.
