Flick NBA Basketball Gets Updated, Price Drop
May 8, 2009
Freeverse launched Flick NBA Basketball at the App Store a little over a week ago. The game contains some fairly entertaining basketball mini games, but the argument could be made that the real draw of the game is the fact that it features actual NBA superstars. If that isn't enough to get you interested in one of the better basketball games available at the App Store, Freeverse has issued an update to fix some of the small problems that plagued the initial release and they have also dropped the price, making it a much better deal.
Flick NBA Basketball is a graphically pleasing title that contains five mini games: 3 Pt. Shootout, Hotshot Arcade, Long Shot Challenge, H.O.R.S.E., and Ball Spin. You can choose to play as one of over two dozen NBA superstars, representing each and every team in the league. The game doesn't, however, allow you to play a real full team game of basketball and because of that, the initial launch price of $4.99 seemed a bit steep. Thankfully Freeverse must have seen it that way as well, because they recently dropped the price from $4.99 to only $2.99.
Here is the list of updates and fixes in version 1.1:
- Metronome shooting mechanic in Horse and Long Shot slowed down
- Enhanced results screens for winning games
- Enhanced visual flair for 3-pt Shootout
- Ball Spin now exits to the game sub-menu
- In Hotshot balls now respond when you select them
- Long Shot now uses random placement for the first 3 shots (they still take place from the same distance)
- Time remaining now displayed in Long Shot results
- AI in Horse can no longer choose the player you've selected
- Fixed several audio issues
- Fixed crashes due to device falling asleep
