iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 4 Unofficial Jailbreak Released

May 3, 2009
As consistant as Apple is with releasing new betas of the iPhone OS 3.0, so is the underground iPhone community in their releasing of the unofficial jailbreak for each of the newest betas. This morning brings news that Beta 4 of the iPhone OS 3.0 has been jailbroken and modified official iPhone Dev-Team software has been released to be able to essentially do one thing: allow the installation of Icy on iPhones and iPod touches running Beta 4. The forums over at ModMyI.com are where you'll find download links and instructions on how to jailbreak and install Icy this time around. As with previously released jailbreaks for Apple's latest iPhone OS beta, there are bugs a plenty and patience is urged. Having personally gone through the process with 3 out of the 4 betas, I can tell you that because of the lack of Cydia and general instability of Icy, it might be wise to hold off on this for the time being unless you'd just like to be able to browse the filesystem of your iPhone or iPod touch and poke around.
